What to Wear with Blazers – Chapter 17

Let me confess something—I love a good blazer. It’s that one item in my wardrobe that magically transforms any outfit.

Blazers aren’t just for boardrooms anymore. They’ve sashayed their way into brunches, airport looks, and even date nights. And honestly, we are here for it. So, for Chapter 17 of my “What to Wear” series, we are going to talk about blazers.

Whether you’re going for boss lady energy or casually chic vibes, there’s always a way to make your blazer work for you. Let’s talk about some of my favourite ways to style blazers (tested, tried, and twirled in).

1. With Jeans
The OG combo which never fails. There’s just something about a blazer with classic denim—skinny, straight, or mom jeans—it works. Throw on a plain white tee, pair it with high-waist jeans and a structured blazer, and finish it off with sneakers or ankle boots. (Secret sauce? Add red lipstick.)

2. With Dresses
Layering a blazer over a slip dress, midi dress, or even a maxi is an easy way to elevate your outfit. It gives a mix of feminine and formal and adds structure without stealing the show.

3. With Skirts
From mini skirts to pleated midis, a blazer pairs beautifully with all of them. Especially love a belted blazer over a skirt—it cinches the waist and adds that “fashion week street style” kind of edge. All the Chic City Girl Feels.

4. With Trousers
Of course, a blazer and tailored pants are the classic combo, but hear me out—play with colour! A pastel blazer with white trousers, or a printed blazer with a solid base, can be so fresh. And don’t even get me started on matching co-ord sets… chef’s kiss!

5. Over Shorts
Yes, you can. This one might sound unusual, but blazers over shorts (especially tailored ones or denim cutoffs) is a trend. It’s fun, slightly unexpected, and works so well with loafers or block heels. Add a sling bag, and you’re ready for lunch dates or casual outings with a twist.

A Few Quick Tips
->Roll up the sleeves of your blazer for a more relaxed, effortless look.
->Layer it over crop tops or bralettes for a fun contrast of structure and sass.
->Don’t be afraid of prints—checks, stripes, or even florals can add personality to your outfit!

So next time you spot your blazer and think “too formal,” think again. Blazers are your best friend when it comes to effortless layering, structured elegance, and, let’s be real—instant confidence boost.
