Another month, another stack of books!
May was packed with late-night reading binges, plot twists, and characters I’m still thinking about. I finished 14 books (I know!) and while not every book was a five-star read, two absolutely owned my heart this month — King of Wrath by Ana Huang and Cry No More by Linda Howard.

If you’re looking for romance book recommendations, or want to update your 2025 reading list with must-read novels, keep reading — I have thoughts, feels, and maybe a few spoilers (no shame).

If you enjoy swoony, alpha male billionaires with soft hearts and women who don’t take nonsense — you need King of Wrath in your life. It’s part of Ana Huang’s “Kings of Sin” series, and this one focuses on Dante and Vivian, who are forced into a marriage alliance.
The writing is modern, sharp, and spicy without going overboard. This book was one of those couldn’t-put-it-down reads — perfect for fans of high-heat contemporary romance with heart.

Cry No More absolutely shattered me… and I loved every second.
This book’s heavier, darker, and so, so powerful. The story follows Milla, a woman on a mission to find her kidnapped child. What starts as a suspense-driven plot turns into a heart-wrenching tale of resilience, redemption, and (surprisingly) romance.
If you’re into romantic suspense books that dig deep into human emotions and have a strong story beyond the romance, Cry No More is a must.

May felt like the perfect mix of spice and substance. I got my dose of billionaire drama, but also a powerful story of loss and hope. I’d say both books are ideal additions to your summer reading list 2025 — one to get your pulse racing and the other to break your heart (and possibly put it back together).
