I met my younger self for coffee today…

She said she hasn’t changed much.
I smiled. She has no idea.

She was wearing full sleeves, conscious of her arms.
I was wearing sleeveless.

She checks her phone too much.
I told her to be here with me.

She ordered a caramel latte.
I ordered a cappuccino without sugar.

She was focusing on keeping everyone happy.
I was focusing on keeping myself healthy and happy.

She stills doubts herself.
I’ve seen her survive things she never talks about.

She said she’s still figuring things out.
I told her. Same.

She cried.
I smiled through my tears.
