Monthly Book Review – November 2025

November was a very good reading month for me. I read 13 books this month, taking my Goodreads challenge to 146/100, which means two things:
1. I have failed at setting realistic goals.
2. I am thriving (thank you very much).

From all the reading adventures of November 2025, three books (of course, romance) truly stood out, each for very different reasons. And trust me, if a book makes it to my monthly favourites, it means it survived my picky-reader era (currently going strong).

So here are my top 3 recommendations from November 2025.

    1. Kulti by Mariana Zapata

Genre: Slow Burn Romance / Sports Romance
    Rating: 4.5/5

Book cover of 'Kulti' by Mariana Zapata featuring a stadium with lights and the title prominently displayed.

Ah, Kulti. The slow burn of slow burns. The slowest burn in the romance genre (and yes, I loved it anyway). Mariana Zapata has a way of dragging you through emotional tension like you’re willingly standing in line for your favourite coffee on a Monday — painful but rewarding.

If you love (or not!) slow burn romance novels, strong female leads, and a male protagonist who silently simmers for 300 pages before acknowledging emotions (the universal Zapata blueprint), you’ll adore Kulti. It’s easily one of the best romance books of 2025 for me. Definitely recommend for readers who enjoy sports romance, patient storytelling, and big emotional payoffs.

    2. Killjoy by Julie Garwood

Genre: Romantic Suspense / Mystery Thriller
    Rating: 4.2/5

Book cover of 'Killjoy' by Julie Garwood featuring a spiral staircase design and bold text indicating the author and title.

Julie Garwood. I love this author. Period. Killjoy blends mystery, witty dialogue, strong characters. What I loved was the pacing — fast enough to keep me hooked, steady enough to savour. The plot twists — not “shockingly shocking” but clever and satisfying. The balance of romance + suspense — always a win.

This book is great for readers who enjoy romantic suspense novels, mystery woven into relationship arcs, and female leads who hold their ground. It definitely makes my list of must-read romantic thrillers this year.

    3. Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard

Genre: Romantic Suspense / Contemporary Romance
    Rating: 4/5

Cover of the book 'Mr. Perfect' by Linda Howard featuring the title in bold black font on a yellow background with a red brushstroke.

Linda Howard never fails to give me that mix of tension, humour, and romance that feels like watching a really good 90s rom-com but with crime sprinkled on top. Mr. Perfect was fun, engaging, and surprisingly emotional in parts.

My favourite things about this book were strong, memorable characters and a storyline that pulls you in instantly. Also, the perfect blend of laugh-out-loud moments and edge-of-your-seat scenes. If you love romantic suspense, slightly dramatic heroines (in the best way), and stories that mix humour with danger, this is such a good pick.

November 2025 was filled with amazing stories, compelling characters, and that joy of picking up a book and instantly knowing it will be a favourite. These three — Kulti, Killjoy, and Mr. Perfect — were hands down the best of the month and reminded me why I adore romance (across all sub-genres).

If you’re looking for romance book recommendations, slow burn favourites, or romantic suspense novels to add to your TBR, these are the ones I’d happily point you toward.

Until next month’s reading wrap-up — happy reading! (And may your Goodreads challenge forgive you the way mine definitely won’t.)
