Monthly Book Review: October 2025

October was one of those months where I really wanted to be swept away by stories — you know, those can’t-put-down, lose-track-of-time kind of books. I read six in total (not bad for a busy month!), but only one managed to linger in my thoughts — The Will by Kristen Ashley.

Before I dive into the review, here’s a little milestone update —I’ve read 133 books this year (yes, I had initially set the Goodreads challenge to 100, but the reader in me clearly had other plans).

Now, let’s talk about the one that stood out this month.

The Will by Kristen Ashley

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 3.5 / 5

Kristen Ashley has always had her signature storytelling style — rich in emotions, family bonds, and protective heroes who somehow manage to grow on you (even when you want to roll your eyes at them occasionally). The Will follows Josephine, a woman whose life takes a turn when she inherits more than she expects from her grandmother’s will — and enters the world of Jake, the man who’s grounded, patient, and a bit of a classic KA hero.

The romance here is slow-paced — it’s not fireworks and chaos, but rather a steady unfolding of trust and affection. (Think slow simmer, not raging bonfire.) If you enjoy contemporary romance with themes of healing, love, and rediscovering life, this one might be worth picking up.

So that’s a wrap for my October 2025 Book Review! Six books read, one that stood out — and with 133 books officially done this year, I think my reading challenge deserves a celebratory coffee (or two).

Until next month’s reading wrap-up — happy reading and may your next book make you smile all the way through!
