My All-Time Favourites – Romance Edition
You all know I have a bit of an obsession with romance novels (okay… maybe a big obsession). There’s just something magical about getting lost in a world of slow-burn chemistry, witty banter, and swoon-worthy moments. Over the years, I’ve read countless love stories, but there are a few that I can always come back to — the ones that made me laugh, cry, and occasionally yell at the book because the characters just won’t listen to reason.
Here are my top 6 all-time favourite romance books — my forever picks that I’d happily recommend to anyone looking for their next swoon-worthy read.
1. Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

SEP never disappoints, and this book is a perfect example. Dream a Little Dream combines humour, emotion, and chemistry so well that it’s impossible not to fall in love with the characters. The story follows two people from different worlds who find their way to each other despite the odds. What I love most is SEP’s signature wit — there are so many laugh-out-loud moments, but also heart-melting romance. Truly a must-read for fans of contemporary romance novels.
2. Honor’s Splendour by Julie Garwood

Ah, Julie Garwood… the queen of historical romance. Honor’s Splendour has everything I look for in a story: strong heroines, brooding heroes, and historical charm that transports you to another time. The love story develops slowly but beautifully, and the tension? Oh, the tension will keep you glued to the pages. If you enjoy historical romance novels with powerful characters, this one is a classic you can’t miss.
3. Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Another SEP gem, and honestly, I could probably fill a whole blog with just her books. Kiss an Angel is emotional, funny, and perfectly paced. It’s one of those stories that makes you feel every little emotion along with the characters — joy, heartbreak, and the fluttering butterflies of first love. For anyone hunting for romantic novels with depth and charm, this one’s at the top of my list.
4. Resisting Temptation by K.C. Lynn

Resisting Temptation (Men of Honour #3) is my guilty pleasure! K.C. Lynn’s writing is fun, flirty, and addictive. This book has the perfect mix of sexual tension, humour, and emotional growth. It’s the kind of story where you keep saying, “Just one more chapter!” — and suddenly it’s 2 AM.
5. Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas

Lisa Kleypas is another go-to author for me. Then Came You is charming, witty, and a little chaotic (in the best way). The love story is heartfelt, with characters that are easy to root for. If you like romantic novels with clever dialogue and swoony moments, this is a gem you should definitely check out.
6. Three Wishes by Kristen Ashley

And last but not least, Three Wishes by Kristen Ashley. This book is filled with strong, real characters and a romance that’s equal parts emotional and sizzling. I love how Kristen Ashley balances drama and love, making you feel every triumph and setback along with the couple. If you’re looking for romance novels with depth, grit, and heart, this one’s perfect.
Romance novels have this magical ability to make us feel, dream, and sometimes even laugh at the absurdity of love — and these six books are my personal favourites that never fail to do just that. Whether you love historical romance, contemporary love stories, or slow-burn chemistry with witty banter, there’s something here for every kind of romance reader.
Honestly, if you haven’t read any of these yet, consider this your friendly nudge to start ASAP. Your heart (and your TBR pile) will thank you!

I don’t mind trying new books but sadly not a single one is available in our local library. Sigh!
Oh that’s such a bummer! Maybe you can try e-books — most of these titles are available online or on Kindle. Totally worth it!
Good list ! You can add another one,” The Touch of Breeze” excellent book
I haven’t read it yet, but now I absolutely will! Thanks for the recommendation, always love discovering new romance reads.

Julie Garwood’s books introduced me to romance novels, her books are so good- one of my favourite authors for the genre too.
She’s such a gem — her storytelling is timeless. I completely agree, her books have that perfect blend of emotion and escapism.
