For Chapter 5 of my “What to wear” series, I bring you – denim shorts. The ultimate piece that pretty much screams summer (and let’s be honest, lazy brunch plans). Denim shorts are like that old friend who never lets you down—reliable, comfortable, and always ready to have a good time. But the trick to making them look stylish rather than just “I grabbed whatever was on top of the pile” is all about how you style them. Here are pieces that goes just too well those denim shorts.

1. White Shirt
White shirt to the rescue, again! There’s nothing—and I mean nothing—like pairing your trusty denim shorts with a crisp white shirt. Button it down, half-tuck it, roll up the sleeves, and suddenly, you look effortlessly chic. Add some gold hoops and flat sandals, and you’re basically ready for a Pinterest board feature (humble brag).

2. Graphic Tees
Heading out for a super casual day, just grab an oversized graphic tee and tuck it into your shorts. Add some sneakers, a messy bun, and sunglasses to hide the fact that you didn’t do my makeup (oops), and you’re good to go.
