We’re already nine days into 2025, and I find myself reflecting on the whirlwind that 2024 turned out to be. Like every year, it had its fair share of highs and lows, laughter and tears, moments of peace, and moments of chaos. Here’s a little glimpse into what the year was like for me.
2024 began with heavy hearts as we bid farewell to my husband’s beloved grandfather early in the year. At 99, he lived a long, fulfilling life, full of wisdom and warmth that we were so blessed to have experienced. He was a doctor, and even at such an age, he knew each and everything. In July, we faced yet another loss—my husband’s grandmother passed away at the age of 89. Her nurturing presence, endless love, and non-stop stories of her time are deeply missed. Losing both of them in the same year was a stark reminder of the fleeting nature of time and the importance of cherishing our loved ones while we can. Even though I only knew them for 3 years only, I was deeply attached to them.
In the midst of everything, we shifted homes—not far, just to a different tower within the same society. The move was refreshing and honestly not needed, but we do what we gotta do.

Work this year was intense! My husband and I were juggling endless deadlines, and I’ll admit, there were moments when we seriously contemplated resigning. (Raise your hand if you’ve been there!) But somehow, we powered through, and that resilience is something I’m proud of as we look back on the year.
On a personal note, 2024 threw me a health scare—I was diagnosed with a kidney stone. Thankfully, by religiously drinking four litres of water daily (seriously, hydration is EVERYTHING!), I managed to pass it naturally without surgery. This experience served as a wake-up call to prioritize my health more consciously.
Amidst all the chaos, we managed to visit our hometown four times this year. Those trips were like pressing the reset button. Spending time with family, indulging in home-cooked meals, laughing with friends, and soaking in the simplicity of life brought so much clarity about what truly matters.

2024 also came with its fair share of joy. We spent quality time with loved ones, shared endless laughs with friends, and learned to make peace with how life is—unpredictable, messy, and yet, so beautiful in its own way.
As I step into 2025, I do so with immense gratitude. Gratitude for the lessons learned, the love shared, and the memories made. If 2024 taught me anything, it’s that life is a blend of challenges and celebrations, and that’s perfectly okay.
Here’s to a new year filled with love, laughter, and more moments to cherish. What did 2024 teach you? Let me know in the comments below—I’d love to hear your reflections.
