Monthly Movie/Drama Review

From movies that tugged at the heartstrings to a Pakistani drama that left a lasting impact, my watchlist of December was quite a rollercoaster. Here’s a detailed review of everything I watched and whether you might want to add (or skip!) them to your list.

1. The Spectacular Now – Movie
Genre: Romantic Drama
My Rating: 8/10

This coming-of-age romantic drama tells the story of Sutter and Aimee, two teenagers navigating life, love, and their struggles. What stood out for me was the emotional depth of the characters and how their relationship evolves in a raw, authentic way.
The movie balances light-hearted moments with reflections on life and growth, making it a relatable watch for anyone who’s been through the ups and downs of young love. It is perfect for a relaxed evening when you want something emotional yet not overly dramatic.

2. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 – Movie
Genre: Horror-Comedy
My Rating: 7/10

The third instalment in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series was fun, and packed with humour and suspense. However, the ending felt like it stretched too far, losing the charm that the series is known for. It’s worth a one-time watch if you enjoyed the previous movies. It’s great for a movie night with family or friends who enjoy light-hearted horror.

3. Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum – Pakistani Drama
Genre: Romantic Drama
My Rating: 9/10

This drama truly stole my heart! From the realistic portrayal of relationships to the nuanced emotions, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was an absolute gem. The story delves into the complexities of love, misunderstandings, and how individuals grow through their experiences. Every episode was beautifully crafted, with relatable dialogues and powerful performances by the cast. If you’re looking for a drama that feels grounded and authentic, this one’s for you.
It is a perfect pick for those who love slow-burn romantic dramas with depth. The characters are relatable, and the story stays with you long after it ends.

4. Grey’s Anatomy – TV Series (Rewatch)
Genre: Medical Drama
My Rating: 10/10, obviously! (But only till Season 16)

Rewatching Grey’s Anatomy never gets old. Meredith and Derek’s love story, the intense medical cases, and the emotional rollercoaster of the doctors are simply iconic.
While I stopped watching after Season 16, the earlier seasons still hold a special place in my heart. This time, I caught myself reliving the heartbreaks, the laughter, and those unforgettable moments that made this show a legend.
If you’ve never seen it, start right away! The characters and storytelling are top-notch. It’s perfect for a weekend binge when you need a mix of drama, romance, and emotional depth.

As December ends, I’m already on the lookout for new movies and dramas to watch in January. Recommendations are always welcome!
