If you all are socially active, then you must have seen nowadays there’s a lot of focus on mental health. And rightly so.
Physical health is important, yes, and so is mental health.
Focus has always been more on physical health; however, the paradigms have changed now.
In this ever-changing world, mental health is something that’s affected a lot.
It’s tough for others to understand it if they haven’t gone through any situation that has scarred them. Even the smallest of things can have a major impact, for bad or for good.
But what is mental health?
Mental health refers to cognitive, behavioral, and emotional well-being. It is all about how people think, feel, and behave. Mental health can affect daily living, relationships, and physical health.
No, it is not a mental disorder. Just like your body is referred to as physical health, mental health is the health of your mind.
Too much thinking, or too much stress, is not good. In fact, too much of anything isn’t good.
How do you deal with it, though?
Do you zone out? Or do you lock yourself in your cocoon? Do you get aggressive? Or do you get extremely silent?
Different people, different situations, unique personalities, and various effects.
And so are different solutions. It’s unnecessary that what’s working for me will work for you as well.
Maybe good sleep will help, or maybe talking to someone is the solution. Just like there’s no particular trigger for mental health, the same is the case for its solution. Everyone is different, and so is everyone’s journey.
To be mentally healthy, you need to adapt to a healthy lifestyle. Both physically and mentally. Set up your routine, follow it through, and most of all, enjoy it.
One thing working for someone doesn’t mean will work for the other person as well.
Baby steps, though, will always take you in the right direction.
