The Perfect Dinner: Sushi, Ramen, and Great Company

I feel food tastes better when you have the right company to enjoy it with. Whether it be going out or dining in, the taste of the food is enhanced when you have great conversations with it. I went out to dinner with my crew last weekend. On the menu? My all-time favourite, Sushi, plus my latest obsession—Ramen. And to top it all off, we had a few rounds of Soju and some refreshing mocktails. It was one of those evenings that you wish would not end!

In the past few years, Sushi has grown on me like anything. It’s one of my all-time favourites (after Pizza, of course!) and I can’t get enough of it. Plus, sushi is light, so it always leaves room for more (and that came in handy!). There’s just something about this perfect combo of rice, seaweed, and different stuffings that gets me every single time.  From Hosomaki combo to Salmon Gunkan Sushi and Teriyaki Chicken Guncan Sushi, we ordered a variety and shared everything.

Now then, after sushi, my latest obsession takes us to Ramen. I’d been hearing about this Korean noodle everywhere for ages, and I finally tried it again after a few years. I’m hooked! I decided to go with Veg Tonkotsu Ramen, which had mushrooms, corn, and so many other veggies in it. The broth was rich, the noodles perfectly cooked, and it had the right amount of spice for me to keep eating it.
(I had to buy chopsticks after having such an awesome dinner, and so I did. Need these kind of dinners more, and this time, at home!)

We couldn’t have this dinner with something to drink, so we ended up ordering Soju, and in mocktails, Yuzu Ade and Peach Pop. There’s something about a well-made mocktail that feels just as special as a cocktail!

We, of course, had to end our dinner with a sweet note, and what better than Tres Leches! It is too sweet for my taste, but is it even a dessert if it’s not sweet? A perfect end to a good dinner and great company.

Food has a way of bringing people together, and this was exactly that. If you haven’t tried the different types of Ramen yet, I recommend that you do so right now. There’s no such time as the present!
